Nina Hall and Ros Taplin’s study compares climate change campaigns by selected environmental non-government organisations (NGOs) in the United Kingdom (UK) and Australia in 2006. It describes the variety of campaigns and examines the conditions under which campaigns can be effective. In the UK, climate change has been used as a pivotal leadership issue, the fossil fuel industry’s influence is not predominant, and NGOs enjoy political legitimacy.
