The People Power Manual has been created to support facilitators and educators working to help local action groups and social movements win environmental and social justice goals.
All funds generated by the sale of the manual go back into supporting grassroots social movement education projects.
Campaign Strategy Guide
‘How-to’ guides and training resources to demystify campaign strategy. Social movements become more powerful as more people are equipped to analyse their political context, consider paths to change and mindfully plan tactics.
The Campaign Strategy Guide is the first instalment of the People Power Manual, a resource created for campaigners, activist educators and facilitators.
Campaign strategy needn’t be mystifying, lonely or stressful. Social movements become more powerful as more people are equipped to analyse their political context, consider paths to change and mindfully plan tactics.
Our Campaign Strategy Guide equips activist educators to facilitate a range of participatory exercises with activists, organisers and citizens. It can also be used as a do-it-yourself guide for campaigners. The guide incorporates 20 handouts, several workshop schedules and process guides for 27 strategising processes that have been tried and tested by thousands of campaigners.
The Campaign Strategy Guide can be purchased as a downloadable file (pdf) or as a 160 page hard copy guide printed on recycled-FSC paper. Purchase the hard copy and you will also receive the download.
“There is an old saying that the harder you work, the luckier you get. But no amount of hard work on a campaign will make up for a bad strategy. Thankfully, developing good strategy and running powerful campaigns isn’t rocket surgery, and this manual is jam-packed full of helpful tips to guide you on your way.” — John Hepburn, Executive Director, The Sunrise Project.

The guide also sharpens core organising skills such as recruitment, doorknocking and phonebanking.
The Community Organising Guide draws on wisdom gained in social movements over several decades. It doesn’t advocate ‘one right way’, but integrates broad-based, social movement and grassroots organising approaches. The Guide is the second of six instalments in the People Power Manual series and follows the August 2015 launch of our Campaign Strategy Guide.
